| PRIVATE ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS: [updated 2/22/11] Here's how the one-on-one sessions work: Most of the workshop models will be available after the workshop for 30 minute private sessions. Some of the models will be available for pre-workshop sessions at 10:30 am or 11:15 am. Photographers will pay $50 - $75 for each 30 minute session. See above chart for rate, availability, and category for each model. Photographers are advised to sign up in advance in order to secure their time slot and may request a shooting location (depending on workshop location). If any slots are still available on the day of the workshop you may sign up and pay for a session at the workshop. Please do not pay the model directly at the workshop - if you wish to give the model a tip you may do so at the time of your session. If you pay in advance or at the start of a workshop and the model is not at the workshop or not available for private sessions you will be refunded the full amount, in cash, at the workshop, or you can apply the fee to a session with another model. If you wish to use two models at a session, the fee is the combined fee for both models. If more than one photographer wishes to shoot one model at one session there will be a 50% surcharge per additional photographer, unless the additional photographer is an instructor or mentor. The model(s) must approve any shooting situation. MODEL RELEASES: [updated 6/28/12] Models sign a limited model release for the open shooting portion of the workshop which also covers the one-on-one sessions in the absence of a photographer supplied release. Models may sometimes sign a full release for one-on-one sessions, but do not assume they will without checking with the model first. Models may ask for an additional fee for a full release. TO SIGN UP FOR A SESSION AT THIS WORKSHOP: Send me an email at gregprice@mac.com and let us know which model you want to book and which time slot. We prefer that you pay for private sessions at the workshop in cash. Sessions are booked on a first come - first serve basis. At our discretion some models may only be booked for one session in advance in order to provide everyone an opportunity to work with that model. You may add additional sessions at the workshop if the model still has openings available. DISCLAIMER: [updated 2/22/11] The number of models at a given workshop is not guaranteed; we will make every reasonable effort to ensure that models listed for a particular workshop will be there. However, we routinely overbook models to ensure that we will have an adequate photographer to model ratio. We try to book models that we know to be reliable, however, in an effort to have new faces at the workshop, we also book models whose reliability has not yet been established. Often models will confirm and then not show up. This can happen even with models who have had an excellent attendance record in the past. The reasons can range from illness, transportation problems, family problems, boyfriend problems, oversleeping, a better job offer, etc. Models who are chronic no-shows will not be booked for future workshops unless they had valid reasons for their no-shows. We try to do everything possible to prevent these problems from occurring. Sometimes we have models on standby to cover last minute cancellations. Sometimes we might find it necessary to un-hire models before a workshop if we do not have enough signups to justify the number of models that have been pre-hired. This is why it is important to register for a workshop if you plan to attend so we can make decisions based on real numbers. Remember that this is a workshop - not a commercial shoot. Models are paid workshop rates, not commercial rates, and sign a limited model release, not a full model release. Do not expect to shoot images during the open session that you can sell as stock unless you negotiate an additional fee with the models and have them sign a standard model release. Models may sign a standard release provided by the photographer for private sessions, but are not required to do so, and may charge an extra fee for full releases. Photographers are encouraged to share photos with the models and to post their favorite shots on our Yahoo Group. Photos from each workshop may be posted on a gallery page for that workshop with credit given to the photographer. |
